Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater
So much nepo baby news! Nicole Kidman’s daughter (Sunday Rose Urban) walking the Miu Miu show, Elvis’s granddaughter (Riley Keough) singing from a hanging swing at the Chanel show? And Millie Bobby Brown who just released her wedding photos to Bon Jovi’s son Jake Bongiovi. Gorgeous!

The pictures remind me of my wedding. Just kidding, we eloped. After I got engaged, and enjoyed the excitement, dread set in. The thought of a wedding gave me anxiety. What if I never fell asleep the night before and then could hardly move the next day? What if I got my period… while walking down the aisle and suddenly it's a scene out of chainsaw massacre. I don’t know how women do it. Picking out photographers, flowers, table settings, music and food? Planning rehearsal dinners, brunch, and hotel stays? Mixing the families? What if everyone is bored? I would single-handidly make sure each individual person is having a blast? Exhausting! Ugh too much pressure, and I totally know I’d wake up with shingles. Well played “fear.” Ya got me yet again! Oh “fear” it's like you’re obsessed with me!

Useless Thoughts

Finally finished Erin and Sara Foster’s Netflix show Nobody Wants This. It took what felt like five minutes to watch the entire series because it was that good! So easy, so funny and cool, light and romantic. Obsessed! Loved! Need more now! (If you have nothing to do this weekend, I highly recommend doing a deep google dive on the Foster sisters! Fascinating!) Was there some stereotypical jewish stuff in there, sure, but I can handle it. I was captivated by Jackie Tohn, who played Esther (worst stereotypical name), Noah’s sister in law. Love seeing shows with actors I don't know. She is beautiful and super funny and the scene where she’s honking her horn outside the bar was hysterical, and so relatable to me. I would totally do that and not give a shit! But my favorite stereotype that they kept in the show… jews are funny. 🤣
Did you watch the Vice Presidential debate? Could have predicted the entire thing. JD was smoothe and Walz was adorable and a little flustered. But just like the presidential debate, it's weird when one is pathological while the other is just a human. Next time do a debate with only yes and no answers allowed, like, did Trump lose the 2020 election, and your answer is….

The PDiddy scandal just keeps getting sadder. 120 more victims have come forward, with the youngest having been just 9 years old during the abuse. Okay, who knew? Who saw, who did not intervene, who watched, who joined in, who left and stayed silent? Prosecutors announced that we will be shocked at the HUGE names attached to this nightmare. Just release the names. Rip the bandaid off. Get it over with. Just tell me who to hate now and let the canceling begin. 😈
Watched Kacey Musgraves concert on PBS to celebrate Austin City Limits 50th anniversary. Each song was more beautiful than the next, it was like two hours of her holding her guitar and STANDING in high heels. Not sure which is the bigger talent? Her song writing skills and angelic voice or being able to stand for two friggin hours in high heels? We women with gentle slender ankles, slipping our precious toes into heels? No thank you! My man feet with sexy CANKLES prefer socks with slides. Like an old grandpa. My poor husband! 🙈
In news no one wants to know; Director Barry Sonnenfeld said Will Smith’s flatulence caused the Men in Black set to be evacuated for three hours. Wow Will Smith’s PR just keeps on giving, first punching people at award shows and now his farts are in the news. But honestly three hours? Now that’s a talent. This story is almost as gross as when Katie Couric’s ex- nanny said Katie eats her boogers.🤮

Once a cheater always a cheater? Will Cheryl Hines stay with Robert Kennedy Jr, now that it's been revealed that three more women have come forward? Is the Kennedy name worth it to just look the other way? I don't know? Ask Jackie, Ethel, and Joan? I would never judge someone for wanting to save their marriage. None of my business! Unless of course his name appears on Diddy’s freak offs list, then let the judging begin! All rise, the judge is here! Court in session! Gavel smash!🤯

And finally…

Speaking of boogers, after working as an editor at many glossy magazines like Vanity Fair, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, New York Magazine, People, and these are just the ones that I was on staff, got benefits and a 401K, but I also freelanced at many many more titles, I can confidently tell you that all of the beauty products, fashion and celebs and their movies, TV shows and book reviews are all advertising driven. Meaning everything they promote is because these brands advertise in the mag or on their websites. And if it’s not because they’re advertising it's for a favor for a later date. Like if you review this, we’ll give you that. Here, I’ll use a celebrity cover as an example; their agents will make deals, if you put our B-list client Dakota Fanning on your cover, we’ll give you A-lister Jennifer Lawrence for your next one. So basically EVERYTHING you see that’s been promoted, was going to land in the mag or on their website before they even opened, tried, looked, read or watched. That’s why I’m obsessed with real reviews, and they’re almost impossible to find without some behind the scenes bullshit. Which brings me to the Instagram feeds I love and follow because they’re in bed with no one.
Book reviews; @caseygirlsread The Casey Girls are sisters, mothers and daughters who read- alot! They’re teachers, librarians, pharmacists, etc. who spent their lives and family vacations around reading books. They’re obsessed! Friends constantly would seek out their book recommendations, so they launched an Instagram feed to share their favorites. No bashing of books, if they don't like it, they don't share it. So head over to their feed to see the best books you need to read now!
News; @Jessicayellin Former CNN correspondent who has created a brilliant feed of just the news not the noise. When you start not trusting the New York Times because even their headlines are riddled with clickbait, it becomes impossible to know what is real news and not just noise. But Jessica makes it clear. No opinion. No cute or clever headlines, just straight news.
Recipes; @bakedbymelissa Melissa Ben-Ishay the creator of Baked by Melissa Cupcakes. You know those tiny little bite size cupcakes that melt in your mouth. She’s the real deal. Just cool and funny. In her stories she’ll review a new item at Trader Joes, and give you her honest opinion. Can’t tell if she’s stoned or just laid back and permanently cool. But it's her cooking videos I love the most, she makes the most delicious salads, dressings, all while keeping it simple and funny and her voice is hypnotizing. You feel like you’re just hanging in your friend's kitchen while they’re cooking.

Until next time folks! Check out my new post on Instagram later today and please send my newsletter to all your peeps and tell them to follow!
